Adobe Installer File
When installing an Adobe AIR app, you get the message 'The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.' In most cases, the installer file is not actually damaged. This seems to be an access or permission issue. Please try the following.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to place the computer in a Clean boot state and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
