Eagle Pcb Software
'Nothing is free', 'There ain't no such thing as a free lunch', 'There is no such thing as free unless the thing in question is without value'. We've all heard this before but maybe, just maybe, the old maxim is challenged by some software.
PCB designing is like maturing wine, the more you practice the better you will be at designing professional level PCBs. PCB designing using EAGLE requires the learning of a lot of processes hence this tutorial is divided into 4 parts: Introduction to EAGLE and the Software Environment; Designing schematics using the EAGLE Schematic Editor. Printed Circuit Board. There are many circuit design softwares available to satisfy diversified layout requirement, including free PCB design software, online free PCB design softwares, and industrial PCB softwares. This is the PCB design software list and brief introduction. Eagle(Easily Applicable Graphical Layout Editor). The German CadSoft Computer GmbH was founded by Rudolf Hofer and Klaus-Peter Schmidinger in 1988 to develop EAGLE, a 16-bit PCB design application for DOS.Originally, the software consisted of a layout editor with part libraries only.

Cadsoft Eagle, DipTrace and Uncle Tom Cobley all do 'free' or 'lite' so as to get you hooked and, they hope, have you come back and buy.
I've assembled a list of free PCB editor/layout that prove 'popular' software is a dog in many ways. Eagle, for example, is something you either love or hate! People have many things to say about it - often swear words. I know of one user who got so frustrated whilst using Eagle he used to pull at the hair of his temples. He is now permanently bald above his ears!
Few Editor (schematic entry)/Layout software packages are the ideal answer - I have six different packages on my company's servers ranging from Cadence (an expensive beauty), through Layout Sprint, to Express PCB. I use what is most appropriate to the assigned task. Note I use the term 'editor/schematic entry'. None actually 'capture'. Nuance Voice>Text software captures. The nearest to 'capturing' is the Sprint Layout ... which is not free, Osmond (Mac) described below.
So here's a list of free software listed in alphabetical order. Only YOU can decide what is best for your tasks, just as much as choices of transportation differ from person to person. Our goal is Gerbers - the route we choose to get there is variable. Quit the square pegs in to round holes game.
EAGLE contains a schematic editor for designing circuit diagrams. Parts are defined in device libraries and can be placed on many sheets and connected together through ports.
The PCB layout editor allows back-annotation to the schematic and includes auto-routing to automatically connect tracks (traces) based on the connections defined in the schematic.
EAGLE outputs Gerber and PostScript layout files as well as Excellon and Sieb & Meyer drill files. These are standard file formats accepted by PCB fabrication companies, many PCB fabricators and assembly shops also accept EAGLE board files directly to export optimised production files and pick-and-place data.

EAGLE provides a multi-window graphical user interface and menu system for editing, project management and to customise the interface and design parameters. The system can be controlled by mouse, keyboard hotkeys or by entering specific commands at an embedded command line. Multiple repeating commands can be combined into script files to enhance productivity. It is also possible to explore design files utilising an EAGLE-specific object-oriented programming language. A large group of textual and video tutorials exists for beginners to design their own PCBs.

EAGLE part libraries are freely available which define schematic shapes, pinouts and part sizes to allow for correct layout in the PCB layout editor. Popular free libraries are available from element14 (a subsidiary of Premier Farnell Plc., former owners and developers of CadSoft Eagle software).
Using EAGLE's programming language to convert board files into Specctra compatible design files it is possible to export designs for usage in conjunction with advanced external autorouters. For further editing the finished designs in session format can be imported back into EAGLE via script file converters.
